What TOP report is best for in-depth analysis of specific orders?

Use: TOP Transaction Details report - shows every order line by line

• TOP Tab ID: May contain 1+ orders depending on the number of orders per tab
  • “Total” column: individual transaction within a tab
  • “Paid in Bbot” column: total combined amount of a tab
  • 
• Note: In Toast, the entire TOP tab appears as a single order

What TOP report is best for tracking daily sales and payouts?

Use: TOP Accounting & Transfers Report - shows daily breakdowns for sales, tax, tip, service fees, partner agreements, and bank transfers

•  Note: ACH Payout Descriptors (at the far right of the report) should be matched to bank transfers
  • N/A - Paid to POS: started in TOP, but paid out in Toast
  • N/A - Unpaid: insufficient funds on card used at checkout

Can we use the Toast Summary reporting & graphs for reporting?

• Not recommended. These reports are often inaccurate due to filtering.
• Best practice: Use line-item report analyses for all financial comparisons with Bbot/TOP
• Why: Toast reports don’t include TOP card processing fees and any incorrect refunds.

What is the best Toast POS Report to use?

• Use: Toast Payments Report - shows line-item details of all payments
• Why: Filters out $0 non-TOP orders and includes all relevant financial information

Can I match a TOP Order to a  Toast order and vice versa?

• Unique Identifier: No 1:1 ID exists between Toast - TOP for an Order
• Best Practice: Toast Check Number + Date to compare to TOP
• Where: Toast Payments Report & TOP Transaction Details Report 

How many Orders did we do for Dine In vs. TOP?

• In Toast: Count unique order IDS in the Payments Report  to show total orders
• In TOP: Count unique Tab IDs in the Transaction Detail report’
• Note: Refunds must be accounted for when running this analysis to compare TOP vs. Toast reports

How do I pull the Toast Payments Report with filters?

1. Navigation: Toast Portal > Reports > Payments > Payments Report
2. Set Custom Date Range: Most weekly reporting runs Mon - Sun
3. More - Dining Option: Select Bbot Dine In (and any additional Bbot dining options)
   1. Filtering by Bbot Revenue Center is also an option
4. Select: “Update” to run the report with specific filters
5. Select: Show Hide Columns > Show All > Update > Export (small arrow icon above report)
